Magneto
Has anyone else besides me ever realized that Magneto isn't actually evil? He's just fighting for what he believes is right and for the safety of his own kind. Granted, his view of what the future should hold is slightly skewed, but that comes from his thinking that natural selection/evolution has deemed Mutants to be the next version of humanity. If he was actually evil (like some mutants) then he and Xavier wouldn't have been or remained friends, and he wouldn't have gone to lengths to try and keep the Mutanats that opposed him alive when possible as well as those who didn't. And he wouldn't have given up on his life long mission, and gone into a deep depression, when everyone else finally decided his view was wrong. Instead he receeded from the world into isolation. "The world, they all turned their back on me. Why should I care what happens to it or them?" And the *only* thing that brought him out of his self-imposed confinment was the potential loss of his son to Apocolypse. Ie: Love and Loyalty.
Bad guy, yes at times. Evil, no. :)
